Two New Engineering Papers To Be Added To GATE 2022

‘Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering’ popularly known as GATE is the most sought-after competitive test offered by top-tier institutes and colleges across India at a postgraduate level. IIT Kharagpur GATE 2022 has recently announced that it will include two new designing papers, namely - Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and Geomatics Engineering.  With the inclusion of two new papers, GATE 2022 will now have 29 papers/subjects in total. Since candidates are allowed to appear for two papers (only a specified set) of the 29 papers, they should carefully make a choice of the papers they wish to appear. Candidates are advised to appear in the papers appropriate to the discipline of his or her qualifying degree. However, they are also free to choose any paper according to their future plans based on the GATE eligibility criteria of the institute/university they wish to seek admission into.
Usually, GATE doesn’t repeat questions from previous year papers but the concepts will be expected over and again. Thus, it's important to solve PYQPs for at least 10 to 15 years and thoroughly prepare for the concepts.
IIT Bombay had conducted the GATE 2021. After the exam was conducted, the organization gave over the chairmanship of the National Coordination Board (NCB), GATE to IIT Kharagpur recently. IIT Mumbai handed over the duty of conducting GATE 2022 to IIT Kharagpur after the fruitful finish of the GATE 2021 Examination on time despite of pandemic situation. IIT Kharagpur Direction - Professor Virendra Kumar Tewari will be Chairman, GATE 2022.

National Coordination Board has recommended for GATE 2022 to set up a committee to explore more centers in remote areas and smaller towns for the GATE examination. Also, candidates are allowed to seek the GATE score for a period of three years. The GATE 2021 scorecards were available on the website till June 30, 2021. GATE is an annual competitive test to shortlist candidates for admission to postgraduate programs in engineering or science with scholarship and fellowship from MoE (Ministry of Education).

GATE 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who will meet the following criteria will be eligible for the GATE 2022 Exam. Kindly go through it.
Nationality – You should be an Indian national to apply for the GATE 2022 Exam. However, candidates from other countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Singapore, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates will also be eligible for the GATE 2022
Age limit - There is no specific age limit suggested by the exam body to appear for the GATE Exam.
Pass Percentage – There is no minimum pass percentage defined by the exam body to apply for GATE 2022.
Educational Qualification –
To apply for GATE 2022, a candidate should possess either of the qualification(s) mentioned below. The educational qualification has been relaxed for the GATE 2022 Exam – Students who study in the 3rd or final year of any undergraduate degree will be eligible for the exam. Also, students who completed degree programs approved by the government in various disciplines such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, or Arts are eligible to appear for the GATE 2022 exam.
