GATE 2022 Civil Engineering: Exam Pattern
The GATE Civil Engineering 2022 notification has been released by IIT Kharagpur on August 1, 2021. Candidates can visit the official site and check all the important GATE exam dates, syllabus, pattern, application form filling process, and other key parameters to appear for GATE 2022. Keeping in mind the earlier trends, one can expect the GATE exam pattern to be the same.

General Aptitude and Subject Specific

  • The GATE Civil Engineering exam is online. It is a computer-based test (CBT).

  • The Division of Marks will be General Aptitude for 15% of total marks, Engineering Mathematics for 15% of total marks, and Paper or Discipline opted for by a candidate for 70% of total marks.

  • The questions paper will have a mix of Numerical Answer Test (NAT), Multiple Select (MSQ), and Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). The detailed GATE Exam Pattern is discussed below.

  • There will be a total of 65 questions.

  • The question paper will carry a total of 100 marks.

  • The questions are to be answered in a total time of 3 hours.

  • There will be two sections i.e. General Aptitude and Core Subject (CE)

  • 1/3 mark will be canceled/deducted for 1 mark MCQ.

  • The 2/3rd mark will be deducted for the 2 mark MCQ.
