HAL hires Graduate Engineers for the posts of Management Trainee and Design Trainee for its various Production, Overhaul & Service Divisions / Research & Design Centers / Offices at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kasaragod, Nasik, Koraput (Orissa), Lucknow, Kanpur, Korwa (Uttar Pradesh) and Barrackpore (West Bengal). These posts are generally available for multiple research, production, and design centers in India. HAL Recruitment 2021: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who apply for the post of engineers must possess the following desired qualification:

  1. Candidate should possess a Diploma or B.E./B. Tech Provisional Diploma or B.E./B. Tech Certificate from a recognized Board in India. (Candidate must be an Indian National)

  2. Candidates who have completed Three Years (3-Years) after obtaining a Diploma or B.E./B. Tech certificates are not eligible. (Calculated from the Date of Passing mentioned in the Provisional Diploma or B.E./B. Tech Certificate/ Diploma or B.E./B. Tech Certificate)

  3. Candidates who have undergone /undergoing / already registered for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act elsewhere are not eligible.

  4. Candidates with work experience of one or more years are not eligible.

  5. The marks obtained in Diploma or B.E./B. Tech all Semester must be mentioned clearly.

  6. The candidates from General/OBC (non-creamy layer) categories should get an average of a minimum of 65% marks

  7. The candidates from SC/ST/PWD categories should get an average of a minimum of 55% marks.

  8. For the final year students: Gen/OBC (non-creamy layer) category must have a minimum of 65% marks

  9. SC/ST/PWD categories must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the examination.

Steps to Apply For HAL Recruitment 2021
To apply for HAL jobs, interested & eligible candidates can follow the process given below:

  • Register on the official site, if not registered.

  • Fill out the application form with all details.

  • Upload the required documents such as educational certificate, identity documents, caste certificate as asked in the application form.

Note - For shortlisting, the final year candidates must submit their final scorecard at the time of interview.

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 31 years

  • SC/ST candidates: 33 years

  • PWD candidates: 38 years

Selection Process: HAL Through GATE
The selection will be based on the candidates’ performance in GATE. Candidates will be shortlisted for further rounds on the basis of their GATE score. So, it is mandatory for all the interested and eligible candidates to attempt GATE. Then according to that score candidates will get shortlisted for the further round. Also, note that the selection will be based on their performance separately in GATE.
HAL Recruitment Through GATE
The qualified candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of valid GATE marks out of 100. GATE exam takes 85% weightage. Further, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal interviews (PI) will be utilized for further shortlisting of the candidates. The weightage for the GD/PI round is 15%.
Final Selection
Candidates considered for the final selection should also pass the medical fitness program based on the company’s policy.

HAL Careers
Posting for the selected candidates will be done in any of the Production, Overhaul, or Services Divisions / Research & Design Centers / Offices, based on the requirements of the HAL Company. Candidates will undergo 52-weeks training program, comprising various training modules including theoretical & on-the-job training at various places. During the training period, the trainees will draw a stipend comprising of Basic Pay of INR 16400, Dearness Allowance & food allowance. Besides, bachelor accommodation or House Rent Allowance is also admissible during the training period, based on the place of posting, as per Company Rules.
On successful completion of the training, the Trainees will be considered as HAL engineers and placed in the Grade-II Scale of Pay of INR 16,400 to 40,500. The candidate will be eligible for Basic Pay, Variable Dearness Allowance, other Perks & Allowances under Cafeteria system, Company Accommodation / House Rent Allowance, Performance Related Pay (variable pay), Leave, Medical Facilities, Provident Fund, Gratuity. Other superannuation benefits, etc. as per Company Rules applicable from time to time.

HAL Careers: Post-Wise Details

  1. Graduate Apprentice

  • Qualification: Candidates should have achieved a B. Tech./B. E in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Computer Science/IT Engineering Branches from a recognized Institute.

  • Age: Maximum 26 years, as per Apprentices Act 1961. Age relaxation of 5 years to SC/ST candidates, 3 years to OBC Candidates and 10 years to PH candidates in respective categories would be admissible.

  • Salary: During Apprenticeship stipend of INR 4984/month will be offered to degree apprentice and INR 3542/month to Diploma Apprentices

  • Selection Process: Face to Face Interview

  1. Air Traffic Controller Trainees in Bangalore

  • Qualification: Full time Degree in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics. UR/OBC candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% Marks and SC/ST candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% Marks, in the aggregate, of all semesters/ years or corresponding CGPA Ratings/Gradations in the qualifying exam.

  • Salary: INR 30,000- 1,20,000

  • Qualification: Full-Time Degree in Engineering / Technology or its equivalent. Candidates should not have any active backlog papers at the time of the Selection.

  • Age: Maximum age will be 28 years for General candidates. Age relaxation will be given to to SC/ST/PwD candidates.

  1. Domiciles in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State (from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 33 years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 31 years

  • SC/ST candidates: 33 years

  • PWD candidates: 38 years

  • Training: The selected candidates will be trained In-House or deputed to the Civil Aviation Training College at Allahabad or Air Force Academy, Dindigal (Hyderabad). Candidates will undergo “On the Job” training in handling of “live traffic” at Bangalore, HAL Airport. The duration of training will normally be one year, which may be reduced/extended depending on the performance of trainees.

  • Stipend: During the period of training, candidates will receive paid a stipend of INR 34,690 per month (comprising of Basic Pay, Variable Dearness Allowance and Canteen Allowance). Besides, Bachelor Accommodation or House Rent Allowance is also admissible during the training period.

  • Selection Process: Selection process will be written Test and Skill Test to be held at Bengaluru.

  • Application Fee INR – 1500 with bank charges, it is non- refundable (Exempted in case of SC/ST Candidates).

  1. Engineer Radio Radar

  • Qualification: Full Time Degree in Engineering / Technology or its equivalent in Electronics and Communication.

  • Experience required for move to the next below Grade or in equivalent post (Completed years): 2 years.

  • Note: For candidates who possess the qualification of Degree in Engineering/ Technology or its equivalent + Post Graduate Degree in Engineering/Technology, the experience will be reduced by the prescribed period, subject to a maximum of two years. In other words, the candidate with M.E. / M. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering can apply as fresher for the above post.

  • The Degree in Engineering / Technology would strictly mean Regular / Full time Degree in Engineering / Technology acquired from recognized institutions / University board of Technical Education under the 10+2+4 system. 

  • Pay Scale: INR 40000-140000

  • Max Age: 35 years. Age relaxation is given to candidates of the other categories.

  • Domiciles in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State (from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 33 years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 31 years

  • SC/ST candidates: 33 years

  • PWD candidates: 38 years

  • Application Fee: INR 500 towards application fee and Bank charges as applicable, which is non- refundable.

  • Selection Procedure: The selection for (Radio & Radar) will be done through personal Interview. The interview Date/Time/Venue will be intimated to the short-listed candidates.
