Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering popularly known as ‘GATE’ is an online-based national level post-graduate entrance exam. It is conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (M. Tech), and direct Ph.D. admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other prestigious universities and institutes across India. GATE is jointly conducted by the seven IITs - Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Chennai, and Roorkee along with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
GATE is held for all the science undergraduates across India. It also opens a gateway to international students who stay in countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. Other than this, GATE provides individuals with excellent career opportunities in public sector organizations (PSUs) and in the field of research. Some of the PSUs and research organizations that use the GATE score for providing jobs include ONGC, NTPC, GAIL, HPCL, PGCIL, BHEL, BSNL, HPCL, NHPC, BARC, DRDO, etc. GATE is usually conducted in January or February every year. It's a single system-based paper that is conducted for three hours and it usually tests the comprehensive knowledge of the applicants on undergrad engineering topics. GATE 2022 notification was released in August 2021 and the registration process has come to an end.

You can join a state-level or national-level university/college to pursue M. Tech through GATE. You will be given a scholarship of INR 12,400 for every month till the two years completion of the course
GATE score remains valid for three years from the GATE result date to join the M. Tech program
GATE scores will remain valid for the current year to secure government jobs. But, it will also depend on the PSUs for which you apply

Note that you don't need any login credentials to take up the GATE 2022 mock test. A default login ID and password have already been entered for the candidates to access it. Step 3 - Subject-wise GATE 2022 mock test links will be displayed on the screen
Step 4 - Click on the subject link to attempt any mock test
Step 5 - In a new window, default login ID and password will be provided. Click on the “Sign In” button
Step 6 - Instructions for attempting GATE mock test 2022 will be displayed on the screen. Read the instruction carefully to attempt the GATE mock exam
Step 7 - Check the declaration box and click on the “I am ready to begin” button
