  1. Educational Qualification:

  • Management: A Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Engineering from a recognized University.

  • Junior Manager (Safety): A Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology from a govt. recognized University.

  • Deputy Manager: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.

  • Junior Manager (Quality Testing Ultrasonic): A Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy from a recognized University.

  • Fire Operator (Trainee): Graduation in any stream with sub officer course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur and Valid Driving Licence for Heavy Motor Vehicles.

  • Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operator): Matriculation with 03 years full-time Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical/ Power Plant/ Production/ Instrumentation Engineering from Govt. recognized institute with First Class Boiler Attendant Certificate of Competency.

  1. Age limit:

  • Manager (Boiler and Turbine Operation): 18 to 37 years

  • Management Trainee (Tech.) Fire: 18 to 28 years

  • Jr. Manager: 18 to 30 years

  • Fire Operator (Trainee), Fireman-cum-Fire Engine Driver (Trainee): 18 to 28 years

  • Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operator): 18 to 30 years

  • Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): 18 to 28 years

  • Overman, Mining Sirdar, and Surveyor: maximum 28 years

  1. Selection Procedure

  • The selection will be done on the basis of performance in the written test/skill test/trade test/Physical Ability Test and Interview.

  • The written test will consist of 100 Objective type questions in 2 segments; the Technical knowledge test for 80 marks and the General aptitude test for 20 marks.

  • The duration of the test would be for 2 hours.

  • The minimum qualifying marks in the written test for unreserved/EWS posts will be determined based on a 50 per cent score.

  • For SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks will be a 40 per cent score.

  1. Salary Packages

Technical Staff (Executives & Non-Executives) – INR 15,830- Rs.58,000 per month

For SAIL Recruitment For Management Trainee

  • Disciplines: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation/Mining Engineering from a recognized University. Note - The disciplines can vary based on the available vacancies and the number of posts.
  1. SAIL Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

  • Only citizens of India can apply for SAIL jobs

  • Candidates should have completed full-time 4-years bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology. Department candidates who are AMIE qualified are also eligible.

  • General and OBC (NCL) category candidates need to have secured a minimum of 65% aggregate marks (average of all semesters in all years).

  • For the SC/ ST and PWD category candidates, they should have scored a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying test

Note - The final year students are not eligible

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for the General category candidates is 28 years. Along with this, age-relaxation is also provided to various category students like:

  • Relaxation of 5 years for SC &ST candidates

  • Relaxation of 3 years for OBC-NC candidates

  • 10 years for PWD (UR)

  • 13 years for PWD (OBC-NC)

  • 15 years for PWD (SC/ST) candidates

  • Candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from January 1, 1981, to December 31, 1990, can avail of relaxation up to 5 years

  • The Departmental candidates should not be less than 45 years

  1. NOC

All candidates employed in Government/ Semi-Government/ Central/ State Government Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings will have to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer during the interview if they are shortlisted.

  1. SAIL Through GATE

The Management Trainee recruitment in SAIL company will be done through GATE and therefore, it becomes necessary for candidates to appear for GATE and in the same disciplines in which they have pursued their graduation. IIT, Kharagpur will conduct the GATE 2022 exam and the official notification has been released for it.   1. SAIL Selection Procedure

  • Shortlisting: On the basis of the merit list for each discipline category wise on the basis of GATE marks (75% weightage)

  • Pre-selection: Group Discussion (GD) (10% weightage)

  • Personal Interviews (PI) (15% weightage)

  • Final Selection: Medical Fitness as per SAIL guidelines

  1. Job Profile:

Candidates will be selected as “Management Trainees (Technical) in E1 grade.

  •     Training & Probation: The selected candidates will have to undergo training for one year and thereafter, on completion of successful training, they will be designated as Junior Managers.

  •     Pay Scale and Perks: Candidates will draw a basic pay of INR 20,600 per month in the pay scale of INR 20600 to 46500. On successful completion of training, candidates will be placed in the scale of pay scale of INR 24900-50500 and the total Cost to Company (CTC) will be 9 lakhs.

  •     Other perks: Besides Basic Pay, the MTT will also be paid Dearness Allowance. They will also be entitled for perquisites under cafeteria approach and benefits such as PF, Gratuity and other allowances as per rules of the Company. The CTC would be around, 9 (Nine) lakhs per annum. In addition, the Company provides benefits like Leave encashment, Housing/HRA and free medical facility for self and dependents as per Company rules. Being direct recruitment on initial basic pay, the Company will not bear any liability on account of Salary eave salary/pension contribution, notice period pay of your previous employment etc. if any.

  •     Placement: If selected, the candidates can be posted to any Plant Unit/Mine location of the SAIL company. The candidates will not be allowed to seek/apply for transfer to any other plant unit location of the Company during the initial four years of service. For departmental candidates, this restriction will be for initial two years of service.

The SAIL recruitment team had announced vacancies for Management Trainees in 2021. Candidates who had appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) were eligible to apply for the Management Trainee post in Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

Here are the complete details on SAIL Through GATE Recruitment 2021:

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have secured a minimum of 65% marks in the engineering disciplines of Mechanical, Metallurgy, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation, and Mining. Candidates must possess the required qualification through regular/full-time courses from University or Institution which is recognized or accredited by councils/ bodies like UGC/AICTE etc. which is set up by the Central/ State Government for the purpose. There was a total of 142 vacancies announced by SAIL Company. While applying for the post candidates have to give their GATE 2021 registration number.

Note - SAIL considered only GATE 2021 marks. And the GATE 2018 marks or prior to that were not considered.

  •     Mechanical engineering: 66

  •     Metallurgical Engineering: 7

Age Limit – The maximum age limit for candidates was 28 years as of June 14. Candidates will be selected on the basis of GATE score, group discussion, and interview. The last date for submission of the application was June 14.

Place Of Posting: If selected, the candidates could be posted to any plant/unit/mine location of the Company. The candidates will not be allowed to seek/apply for transfer to any other plant/ unit/ mine location of the Company during the initial four years of service.
