What Is NMDC?
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is one of the major PSUs and Indian state-controlled mineral producers. It’s 72% owned by the Government of India, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel. NMDC Limited is a Navratna Company with its registered office located in Hyderabad.
NMDC is involved in the exploration of iron ore, copper, rock phosphate, limestone, dolomite, gypsum, bentonite, magnesite, diamond, tin, tungsten, graphite, etc. It is India’s largest iron ore producer & exporter that produces more than 35 million tons of iron ore from 3 fully mechanized mines in Chhattisgarh & Karnataka. It also operates the only mechanized diamond mine in the nation at Panna in Madhya Pradesh.
Slowly and steadily, NMDC is also moving from mining to mining-cum-manufacturing company by setting up of value-added projects like 3 MTPA steel plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh and pelletization plants in Karnataka & Chhattisgarh. Spreading its arm, NMDC Limited has taken over a Silica Sand mining and beatification project from Uttar Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Ltd., The plant has been designed to produce high purity beneficial silica sand of around 3,00,000 tonnes per year which is a raw material for the production of float/sheet glass.
As a drive for waste-to-wealth management, R&D has taken up the new product development through its intensive efforts. It's for the production of high–tech and high-value products from blue dust to be used for defence applications. NMDC growth strategy envisages mainly through the brown-field expansion of existing mines and improves the evacuation along with it. The development of green field mines in Chhattisgarh has also been planned through JVs with the State Mining Corporations.

Executive Trainee (ET)
Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have passed Full-Time Engineering Degree in a concerned discipline with 60% marks as a minimum.
Engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mineral Processing and Computer Information Technology.
Maximum Age – The upper age limit for NMDC Executive Trainee is 27 Years for General Category candidates. There will be special age relaxation provided to various category candidates. The age relaxation is as follows:
For the SC/ST candidates an upper age relaxation of 5 years
For the OBC (NCL) candidates an upper age relaxation of 3 years
For the PwD candidates an upper age relaxation of 10 years is provided to the students.
During the interview, the candidates who will claim age-relaxation under various categories will need to present supportive documents.
Selection Procedure:
The selection procedure for NMDC Limited is given below:
Part 1 Subject Knowledge (on specific trade) 30 marks
General Knowledge 20 marks
Numerical & Reasoning Ability 20 marks
Part 2 Interview 30 marks
Salary
The starting basic pay for Executive Trainee will be INR 20,600 per month
After one year – INR 20,600 to INR 46,500/- per month (Basic pay as INR 21,860 pm)
Training and Probation: Candidates selected as Executive Trainees will be placed under training for one year. After successful completion of training, the candidates shall be placed under probation for one year.
Job Location: The qualified candidates will be posted to any of the Plant/Unit locations of the NMDC company. Candidates will not be allowed to seek or apply for transfer to any other plant/unit location for the initial four years of service. For departmental candidates, this restriction will be for the initial two years.
Junior Manager
Educational Qualifications: The candidates should be a student of the CS & IT Discipline. I.e. MCA or BE/B. Tech (Computer/CS/IT) or Degree in Engineering + PG Diploma in Computer Application Programming/ Computer Mgt./Systems Management from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience: The candidate should have a Post qualification experience of 2 (two) years as given below in any one of the functional areas:
Network & Infrastructure - Design/modify LAN, WAN, Firewalls, L2/L3 Switches, Routers, Leased lines, Windows Active Directory, DNS, Exchange Server, Virtualisation.
Database/System Administration – Manage databases like Oracle, SQL Server, perform DBA related tasks, UNIX, Linux, Windows Server Management, write scripts, backup/recovery, apply patches, upgrades.
Software – Write/maintain programs in languages like C/C++/Java/JSP, VB, .NET, create stored procedures, functions, database triggers etc., create and maintain websites, manage middleware, perform software engineering tasks.
Educational Qualification: The candidate must be a student of Instrumentation Discipline: Degree in Instrumentation Engineering from a recognised University/Institute.
Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of 2 (two) years of post-qualification working experience in the process industries like Iron & Steel /Benefaction/Pellet/Power/Fertilizers/ Chemical/ Cement plants.
Pay Scale: The pay scale for Junior Manger will be INR 50000-3%-160000
Selection Process: The candidates will be called for an Interview/GD or both for the post of M-2 and M-4 grade based on the performance in the Written Test by following reservation policy. Candidates are expected to score minimum marks in the written test in order to move to the further selection round, which will be:
SC/ST-30 marks
OBC-35 marks
UR – 40 marks

NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2021: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates will have to meet the eligibility criteria as specified by the authorities for NMDC recruitment through GATE 2021. While all the candidates are required to have a valid GATE 2021 score, there will be other common requirements for NMDC recruitment. The detailed eligibility criteria will be released by the authorities.
Some common eligibility criteria:
Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology
Final year/Semester candidates are also eligible to apply, subject to production of the final pass certificate of eligible qualification at the time of Group Discussion (GD) & Interview, otherwise, their candidature will not be entertained.
A candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the disciplines can only apply for the post of Executive Trainee and Junior Managers in the respective disciplines.
Application Process: NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2021
The registration process for NMDC recruitment through GATE 2021 was available in online mode. Candidates had to provide the GATE 2021 registration number to fill the NMDC recruitment 2021 form. Along with the application form, the candidates had to submit their personal, educational and academic details. Information about the GATE such as registration number and others also had to be provided. An amount of INR 500 had to be paid by all the candidates as the application fee which was non-refundable.
