For MCQs, there was a negative marking of 1/3 rd for 1 mark questions & 2/3rd for 2 mark questions.
There was no negative marking for MSQs & NAT questions

GATE CS 2021 Question Paper Analysis: Highlights
GATE CSE paper was conducted on 13 February 2021 across two sessions – morning and afternoon. According to the candidates, who appeared for the Computer Science and Information Technology (CSE) paper, the difficulty level was moderate to easy for the examination.
12 MSQs were asked in 1st Shift and 7 MSQ questions were asked in 2nd shift
A maximum of 19 NAT questions were asked in the 2nd shift.
Almost 50% were direct concept-based questions.
The overall difficulty level was ‘Moderate to Easy’
20% of conceptual-based mostly questions had been requested.
While 15% of questions had been theoretical.
