Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is a Public Sector Undertaking that function under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. This organization was registered as a Public Limited Company under the Companies Act, 1956. NPCIL, along with its operational nuclear power plants, also holds a stake in BHAVINI, another PSU of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) which is involved in the Fast Breeder Reactor. In the country, Nuclear Power reactors are designed and commissioned under the supervision of NPCIL. NPCIL is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of nuclear power reactors across the nation. At present, NPCIL has 22 operating commercial nuclear power reactors with an installed capacity of 6780 MW.
NPCIL has about 50 years of enriched experience in the safe operation of nuclear power plants, with the motto of ‘Safety first and Production next'.

Based on the latest job requirements, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) releases the vacancy for the post of Executive Trainee through GATE. Thus, the entry will be NPCIL through GATE!
Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have completed B.E/B. Tech/B. Sc. (Engineering)/5-year Integrated M Tech in respective disciplines
Candidates who have done 5 years integrated course leading to M.E./ M. Tech. in the relevant discipline may also apply for the posts.
Final year students can also apply provided they can produce proof of their eligibility and final marks sheet during the final recruitment.

  • Eligible Branches: The eligible branchers for the recruitment of Executive Trainee in Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited are: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical, Civil, Industrial and Fire Safety engineering.

Qualifying Marks
For an executive trainee position, the candidates must have an aggregate of a minimum of 60% during graduation.
Age Limit: Based on the last year's trends of NPCIL recruitment, the upper age limit for the candidates is 26 years. However, special relaxation is provided to various category students.

  • For the OBC category candidates the upper age limit is 29 years

  • For the SC/ST category candidates the upper age limit is 31 years

  • For the candidates who are dependents of those who died in the riots of 1984, the upper age limit is 31 years

  • For candidates of Jammu & Kashmir Domiciled from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989 (Dom Kashmir) the upper age limit is 31 years

  • For Persons with Disability (PWD) – 10 years of relaxation is provided on the upper age limit.

  • For PwBD – General/EWS Category, the upper age limit is 36 years

  • For PwBD – OBC Category candidates the upper age limit 39 years

  • For PwBD – SC/ST Category candidates the upper age limit is 41 years

Selection Process

  • The candidates are allowed to apply for the NPCIL Selection based on the GATE Scores. IIT, Kharagpur will conduct GATE 2022. To know more you can click here

  • This will be followed by an interview. And based on the cumulative score of both GATE and interview the final selection will be done.

NPCIL Salary Structure and Perks
The selected trainees will be given compensation as follows during the training period:

  • Monthly Stipend – INR 35,000

  • Book Allowance – INR 10,000

  • Mandatory Lodging (on nominal charge) & Boarding – In NPCIL Hostels.

NPCIL Salary For Executive Post (After one year of training is completed)
Once the training is completed, the candidate is appointed as Scientific Officer/C (SO/C) in Group ‘A’.
Following is the salary structure thereafter:

  • Salary Band: 15600 – 39100

  • Grade Pay: 5400

Dearness Allowance: They are eligible for two additional or three increments (each of 3% of Salary + Grade Pay) and it will be in accordance with their performance during training.

The Diploma in Engineering should be of three years’ duration after SSC/HSC

B.Sc. shall be with Physics as principal and Chemistry/Mathematics/ Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR with Chemistry as principal and Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/ Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage. NPCIL Salary For Stipend Trainee
Stipend During Training:

  • During the 1st year a monthly stipend of INR 16000

  • In the 2nd year, monthly stipend of INR 18000

Service Agreement Bond:
The selected candidates will be required to have to enter an agreement, Indemnity Bond /Bank Guarantee, and Service Bond for a period three times the period of training subject to a minimum of two years and a maximum of five years. In the event of a breach of bond, the amount repayable will be equivalent to the stipend along with the book allowance actually received for the stipend period.
Post Training - On successful completion of training, the candidates will be joining NPCIL as Scientific Assistant/B at a minimum pay of INR 35,400. Some additional increments may also be granted to the candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in training.
