All About Electronics And Communication Engineering

Every piece of technology which uses electronic equipment needs the expertise and sound knowledge of ECE engineers. From designing Integrated Circuits to monster machines, chipsets, or transmitters; all need the expertise of an Electronics and Communication engineer. Thus, it’s one of the most interesting occupations; however, it can be quite technically challenging and need a great deal of mathematics and physics knowledge. This job offers unique opportunities for individuals especially in this technologically innovative world to design and manufacture devices that people use most frequently in their day-to-day lives.
What Is Electronics And Communication Engineering?
ECE full form in engineering stands for Electronics & Communication (ECE) and it involves research, design, development, and testing of electronic equipment that are used in various power and control systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, smart devices, and more. ECE engineers conceptualize and manufacture communication and broadcast networking and systems. It also deals with analogue transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, solid-state devices, digital and analogue communication, analogue integrated circuits, microwave engineering, satellite communication, antennae & wave progression. ECE engineers also manufacture electronic devices, circuits, and communications equipment.
In India,
Electronics & Communication Engineering is offered by various colleges and institutes at the UG and PG level leading to B. Tech and M. Tech degrees respectively. While B.Tech is a four-year degree program, M.Tech will be a two-year degree program. Today, Electronics and Communications Engineering has spread across a range of specialties such as robotics and machines, artificial intelligence, signal processing to electromagnetism, and more. Candidates can get jobs in the field of circuit design, wireless communications, robotics, electronics, Machine learning, VLSI, Nanotechnology, Embedded Systems, Digital Electronics, Optical Communications, Signalling & processing and many more.
A qualified ECE engineer has the option to choose his or her work in fields like computers, electronic gadgets, navigation systems, power plants, construction sectors, etc. The average salary for fresh Electronics And Communication engineer graduates is INR 5-6 lakh and above. In India, there are top-tier institutes/universities that offer Electronics and Communications Engineering as one of the mainstream disciplines at the UG and PG level, that will help you attain B. Tech and M. Tech degrees respectively.
Once you pursue B. Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering and appear for the GATE exam, there are various avenues open for you. Firstly, you can apply for M. Tech programs that will eventually lead you to better job opportunities, higher pay packages, subject specialization, and a handsome stipend.
Secondly, one of the most exciting opportunities would be, various PSUs in India hire Electronics and Communications engineers through the GATE examination, thereby giving them a chance to settle down for a dream career.
With a conducive work environment, good pay & incentives, and other amenities, PSU provides a promising future for individuals. Some of the top PSUs in India that hire through GATE include: BHEL, HPCL, DRDO, NPCIL, SAIL, BARC, Powergrid, and more. Other than PSU hiring, after M. Tech you can further pursue your career in Ph.D. research wherein you will be paid a stipend and later get recruited as professors or HOD in various prestigious universities and institutes across India. You can also secure jobs in the research wing of various government or private organizations.
Thus, Electronics and Communications Engineering is a prominent part of various industries and it's divided into various sub-disciplines.
