Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is located in the city of Aurangabad, Maharastra- 431004. This University was established by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1958. After independence, the people of India people of Marathwada demanded a university in the region, because the Marathwada region was educationally neglected and for higher education, the students had to go to Osmania University, Hyderabad. The University plays a significant role for the economic, educational, social and cultural development of the people of Marathwada, and cater the educational need for the people of that region. The University also serves as a nursery for the leader of different works of life, industrial, professional, economic, social and political who can render help in all direction and also in the process of revival of the unique culture. The University believes to be an epitome of excellence by creating and imparting time responsive quality education to tackle the changing situation and keep the research and development at its care for ‘Anyone’ at ‘Anytime’ and ‘Anywhere.’ The University’s mission is to provide a platform to achieve the academic excellence for the rural women socially disadvantaged and differently-abled groups and also to impart culturally enriched, and value added education by adopting the local to a global approach.
