THERMODYNAMICS
v Objective:
After the syllabus
for first year engineering being common for students of all branches, the
subjects are more stream-specific from the second year. Thermodynamics is a part
of the third semester. The subject is included with an objective to familiarize
students with the concept of energy in general and heat and work in particular.
Thermodynamics
deals with the study and analysis of heat and work interactions in different
systems. This subject is a part of the mechanical, civil, automobile and
similar branches of engineering making it crucial for students from these
branches of engineering. The concepts included in Thermodynamics are used while
solving numerical problems and applied in various theorems and laws in
different thermal-related subjects of later years for the above-mentioned
streams.
v Syllabus:
The Thermodynamics
syllabus is divided into six modules-
1) 1.1
Basic Concepts and Definitions
2) 2.1
First law of Thermodynamics
3) 3.1
Second Law of Thermodynamics
3.2 Entropy
4) 4.1
Thermodynamic Relations
4.2 Availability
4.3 Properties of Pure Substance
5) 5.1
Compressors
6) 6.1
Vapour Power Cycle
6.2 Gas Power Cycle
The subject demonstrates the application of the laws of thermodynamics to a wide range of systems. It includes heat and work interactions in thermodynamics systems, interrelations between thermodynamic functions to solve practical problems. Students are prepared to use steam table, mollier chart to compute thermodynamic interactions and also to compute efficiencies of heat engines, power cycles, etc.
v Study Material:
As this subject is a foundation to subjects like Fluid Mechanics, TFPE, etc., it is very important for students to know the concepts of Thermodynamics. But it is difficult to understand different concepts completely by just referring to a book. That is where online educational portals with online courses, tutorials and video lectures play an important role. It is easy for students to grasp different topics and study a subject in video format! Online courses are regularly updated with relevant up-to-date study material. We have experienced professors to provide the best quality content and to ensure the quality in terms of understanding the technical aspect of different topics in order to help students write their exams confidently.
v Course Details:
Ekeeda provides Thermodynamics course at just Rs. 1500/- for second year students. The course is designed especially to help
students get their basics right and to easily understand Thermodynamics.
The course contains the entire syllabus of Thermodynamics with:
ü
Over 50+
lectures
ü
25+ hours
of video
The six
modules are divided into 2 chapters.
The chapters are broken down into almost 55 smaller sub-topics to help students
to grasp various concepts. Each video is
3-70 mins in length so that it is easy for students to understand different
concepts in a comprehensive manner. The level of difficulty of the topics is
designed to provide a smooth learning curve for all students.
The video
lectures, online tutorials, and subject courses are easily available across the
country for all students on Ekeeda.com
as well as on our engineering app. Ekeeda offers special combo packages on study
material and courses for subjects of an entire semester. This is done with an
aim to enable the students to improve their technical aptitude of different
subjects and help them to score well in their engineering exams.
