Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Lectures & Courses

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is one of the largest branches of engineering, it is responsible for equipments like Radio, TV, telephones, computers, etc. This has also played a major role in improving productivity in industries like energy and agriculture, and it has also helped in boosting the economy of various other sectors. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers have to study various principle and their practical aspects of developing prototypes of integrated circuit components.

As an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer, you would also be responsible for designing and overseeing the installation of various telecommunications equipment and facilities. E.g., copper wire telephone facilities, complex Electronics switching system, fiber optics cabling, IP data systems, etc.

Key Focus Area of the Course

Most of the syllabus are sub-parts of physics and maths, so you need to focus on these subject:

  •         Semiconductor Devices, Digital Logic Design, Network Theory
  •         Signals, and Systems; Communication Systems, Analog Circuits
  •         satellite communication, digital and analog communication

Eligibility Criteria

  •         Under Graduate (UG) - The candidate should pass with at least 50% marks in their class XII or the equivalent CGPA in a science major.
  •         Post Graduate (PG)- The candidate should have at least 60% of marks (first class) in their Under Graduation with Engineering major. If the grading system has CPI, then the candidate should have a minimum CPI of 6.5.

Scope of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

Technology is growing at an exponential rate and will continue to do so in the coming years. Hence, there will be a demand for competent engineers in the electronic and telecommunication industry. Their work is to get involved in designing and sustaining cutting edge technology to stay relevant in the market.

As an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering student, you will see job vacancy in Consumer electronics manufacturing organization, IT industries, Health care equipment manufacturing industry, Telecommunication industry, and Other industries like steel, petroleum and chemical industry.

Career Prospects as an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer

The Electronic and Telecommunication industry is booming at the moment with the introduction of 5G and Foldable phones. Soon, Central and State government-sponsored companies such as Indian Telephone Industries, MTNL, All India Radio, AIR, Civil Aviation Department, etc. will hire more electronics and telecommunications students. The same is true for private companies such as Samsung, Sony, who manufacture electronic products. If you want, you can also take up jobs at research organizations like ISRO.
