To learn data science, you must first learn a programming language, such as python (the most important), javascript, scala, or SQL. You'll need SQL because you'll be dealing with a variety of databases, and you'll need to be comfortable with the programming language you study. We advise that you learn Python.

You should also be familiar with a few math skills, as understanding a few machine learning algorithms and discovering patterns requires knowledge of linear algebra and calculus. But don't be frightened; if you understand probability and statistics, you'll be able to succeed in data science.
