GATE 2022: BDS and M Pharma Graduates Can Appear The Exam | Ekeeda

Indian Institute Of Technology – IIT, Kharagpur will conduct the GATE 2022 exam between 6-7 February and 12-13 February 2022 (tentatively). It will be a computer-based online test and it's one of the most promising competitive exams in India. There are a lot of changes in the GATE examination, and the authorities have now expanded the GATE 2022 eligibility criteria. Accordingly, to the revised GATE eligibility criteria, BDS and M Pharma degree holders can also apply and appear for this highly prestigious GATE 2022 examination.
IIT Kharagpur has introduced two new papers - GE (Geomatics Engineering) and NM (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering). The total number of subjects/papers has increased to 29 now. IIT, Kharagpur has released the GATE 2022 official notification in August 2021 that will display important GATE exam dates, GATE syllabus, registration process, application form, fees, cut off, and other information on the official website. Candidates will need to apply for the GATE 2022 exam on or before the due date announced by the IIT.
The two new papers will prove beneficial for our graduates in these two areas. “The country needs human resources with advanced capabilities in shipbuilding industries and geo-informatics sector”, says Director Of IIT Kharagpur V. K. Tewari while speaking to the Indian Express. Today, GATE is fast acquiring its brand value and even foreign universities are utilizing the GATE scores for offer admissions. It would play an instrumental role in shaping up the future of young and brilliant aspirants across India. Last year, the Bombay authorities had relaxed the GATE eligibility criteria and allowed 3rd year students to take the examination. The eligibility was earlier limited to graduates or 4th-year candidates.
GATE 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who will meet the following criteria will be eligible for the GATE 2022 Exam. Kindly go through it.
Nationality – You should be an Indian national to apply for the GATE 2022 Exam. However, candidates from other countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Singapore, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates will also be eligible for the GATE 2022
Age limit - There is no specific age limit suggested by the exam body to appear for the GATE Examination
Pass Percentage – There are no minimum pass percentages defined by the exam body to apply for GATE 2022.
Educational Qualification – To apply for GATE 2022, a candidate should possess either of the qualification(s) mentioned below. The educational qualification has been relaxed for the GATE 2022 Exam – Students who study in the 3rd or final year of any undergraduate degree will be eligible for the exam. Also, students who completed degree programs approved by the government in various disciplines such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, or Arts are eligible to appear for the GATE 2022 exam.
Here are the detailed GATE eligibility criteria 2022 as per qualifying degree for the entrance examination given in the table below -

Documents Required To Be Eligible For GATE 2022 Examination –
The applicants should submit the following documents to claim their GATE 2022 eligibility:
If a candidate has completed one of the qualifying examinations as mentioned- above in the table or earlier, then he or she has to submit the degree certificate/provisional degree certificate/course completion certificate/membership certificate as issued by the society or institute.
If the candidate is expected to complete one of the qualifying norms in 2022 or later as mentioned in the table above, then he/she had to upload their Provisional Certificate Letter (as issued by the Head of the Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Department) or a copy of marks card for Section A of AMIE, etc.
All the documents have to be uploaded only while filling the online application. It does not have to be sent by post.
Candidates with backlogs (failed subjects) in any of the subjects in their qualifying examination has to upload a copy of any of the mark sheet of the final year issued from the institute where he/she was studying.
