Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has released the GATE 2022 brochure on August 1, 2021. Applicants can check the GATE 2022 notification from the official website - gate.iitkgp.ac.in.
IIT Kharagpur – the exam conducting authority has introduced various changes in the IITKGP GATE exam 2022. Applicants will be able to fill the GATE 2022 Application form starting from August 30, 2021 till September 24, 2021. Also, the GATE 2022 application form will be available for an extended period with an additional fee of INR 500 from September 25 to October 1, 2021.
GATE 2022 - Changes Introduced From 2022
IIT Kharagpur has introduced two new papers for the GATE Exam 2022. The new papers introduced from next year include - Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Geomatics Engineering. You can find the syllabus for two new papers in the official GATE 2022 brochure.
There will be a separate GATE Exam 2022 score and ranking for candidates appearing for Geology and Geophysics (GG), Humanities and Social Sciences (XH), and Architecture and Planning (AR).
CE, CS, EC, EE, and ME papers will be conducted in multiple sessions. However, a candidate is allowed to appear in only one specified session
A candidate appearing in one or two papers will have to fill only one GATE application form 2022. In case of multiple applications, only one will be accepted and the remaining applications will be rejected without any refund for the paid fee.
From this year, direct recruitment to Group A level posts in the Central government, i.e Senior Field Officer (Tele), Senior Research Officer (Crypto) and Senior Research Officer (S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, is now being carried out on the basis of IITKGP GATE score.
The exam conducting authority has decreased GATE 2022 exam centres in some zones this year. The exam will not be conducted at any foreign centres due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
Applicants appearing for more than one paper have to pay the GATE Exam 2022 application fee separately for both papers.
Applicants must keep the IITKGP GATE 2022 scorecard safely after the results are declared.
Qualifying marks for EWS candidates is 90% as that of the General candidates.
GATE Eligibility Criteria 2022
It’s advisable before you apply for the GATE 2022 Exam, you should check eligibility for it. Ideally, applications from candidates who hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institute across India are invited for the examination. Every year few modifications take place and candidates should understand them before applying for the exam. The GATE 2022 eligibility criteria will vary based on the papers they're applying for. The application fee for GATE Exam 2022 will be as follows –
• For General/OBC – INR 2000 (Along with extended period)
• For SC/ST/PwD Candidates – INR 1250
• For Women Candidates – INR 1250
GATE 2022 will be conducted on 5, 6, 12 and 13 February 2021 across different centers in the nation. It will be a computer-based test. The admit cards for the exam will be available on January 3, 2022. GATE 2022 result will be announced on March 17. Applicants who will be able to register themselves before the last date (along with late fee payment) will be eligible to appear for the GATE examination.
